Lou Maxwell, The Green Hobbit, passionately advocating for cannabis at the 2024 Global Cannabis March in KZN. A true leader, making strides for a greener, more empowered future!

As The Green Hobbit, she crafts delectable infused goods from her bakery and hosts Wonderful Women of Weed events. These gatherings are designed to educate, uplift, inspire, and support women in the cannabis space.

As a passionate motivational speaker, Lou empowers others with her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for cannabis.

Lou Maxwell, The Green Hobbit, inspiring and uplifting women at a recent event, sharing her journey and passion for cannabis.

What inspired you to join the cannabis industry, and how has it changed your life?

"My journey began when I was seeking alternative medications for my uncle, who was suffering from terminal prostate cancer. The morphine was no longer effective, and his pain was unbearable.

Although I had some familiarity with cannabis from my younger years, I was unaware of its medical benefits. I immersed myself in learning about it, and that marked the start of my over 13-year journey in the industry.

Cannabis has profoundly transformed my life. I'm now an advocate for freedom and trade of cannabis for both recreational and medicinal use. Through my ventures like Women of Weed and The Green Hobbit, I provide guidance and create unique edibles, from gummies to innovative creations."

Can you share a moment when your work in cannabis made a positive impact?

"There are many personal moments that are not often shared publicly. However, the most gratifying impact comes from understanding people’s needs and misconceptions about cannabis. Seeing their hearts and minds change as they experience relief or positive results from cannabis is incredibly rewarding."

What’s a personal favourite motivational quote of yours?

"If you don't fail, you're not even trying." - Denzel Washington

"Failure is a part of life. We all experience it, and it’s essential to accept it. The key is to persist through failures, keep practising, and preparing. There will come a day when everything aligns, and success is achieved."
